What a day in May….

Triple Crown season is upon us and it kicks off with the 140th running of the Kentucky Derby.  When I watch horse racing,  I am simply amazed by the power these animals possess. Twice in my life did I ride a horse.  First, at a pony farm in Gettysburg when I was 8 years old and the second time in the arcade at the ESPN Zone.  Neither scenario was ideal for a variety of reasons,...

Penn Relays Flashback

This weekend is one of the premiere events in the world of track and field. Penn Relays. A few years ago I went to Philly to hang out with my friends and enjoy a beautiful day. Life is a bit to busy this year to head down, so this is a flashback. 2012 I met up with Leslie and Shelly in Philly. By train, plane, and automobile. Actually just train and automobile. Penn Relays are held of course...

Billy Cundiff….

I think we can agree some days, weeks, months, and even years have been more difficult  than others. Some obstacles seem too large to over come or we might be too broken down to keep fighting the fight. In the real world, I like to believe all people are capable of over coming the monkey that might be on their back sooner or later.  The guest on my show today will be one person I'm...

Back to Happy Valley….That Makes Me Happy :)

Pharell is Happy and I'm Happy  because I'm going to Happy Valley for  Blue White weekend at Penn State.  I'm thrilled to be headed to my beloved school. For those unfamiliar with this event, it's spring ball, our intra-squad game. What's really cool about the Blue White game...it's free. For those who come up to Happy Valley, they can take their friends...

A Throw Back….

In the summer of 2012, with help from three of my girlfriends, I catered the coaches meal at the Shawn Springs Football Camp in Ashburn, Virginia. We had a fabulous time together and whipped up some delicious food for the guests. While at the camp, I had the opportunity to meet Shawn and we became friends. Shawn an Ohio State graduate (he's still a nice guy) played 13 years in the...

Loving The Camera

As much as I love being on camera and doing the show, not every guest steps on set and has the same comfort. My guest on this show, Bennie Thompson retired NFL player and coach, wasn't completely sure he was camera ready. There was quite a bit of coaxing  to reassure Bennie all would be just fine. For this particular show, my tailgating tip was decorating your cups at a tailgate/homegate...

March Madness Beginnings……

Did March come in like a lamb or lion? That one's up in the air for sure:)  but March Madness is in full effect and I have a few more questions?  Dickie V... where are you baby? Is "Bracketology" only a term in the "urban dictionary" or has it been adopted by Webster? Why do college students jump in place the entire game like they've had  several cans...

Good Times….

Being in the kitchen is definitely my comfort zone. It just feels right. Laughter feels right too. The day I spent in the kitchen with Wally Williams, former Raven and CBS analyst, provided me some laughter.  Wally is what I call "Light and Lively".  Check out the great food and fun. Coconut shrimp On A Fried Won Ton (my deconstructed egg roll)  Ingredients Shrimp and Wontons -...

Adrian Hamilton….one of my favorite people

It's no secret that I'm a Steeler fan. The Heasley's hale from the Pittsburgh area where many family members worked in the steel mills.  Black and gold was ingrained from the very beginning. Six Super Bowl rings,  our terrible towel, Heinz Field, Primanti Brothers Sandwiches, and the steel curtain; love it all. But there is another side to Jen Heasley . It's almost...

A day with Essence

When I taped my most recent show with Essence Carson, my menu was a great Italian themed spread.  From the most minimal appetizer ever, to my twist on cheese sticks (pockets) , a way to keep the kids occupied, and an entree turned into game day food. Your guests will love all of the above. I'm so clever..... Essence Carson of the New York Liberty and musician. Watch today's show to...
